FINAL TRAILER FOR HERETIC RELEASED
What did Paddington do to Hugh Grant to make him turn out like this? Once known for romantic comedies and little else, Grant’s roles have become increasingly more interesting and darker over the past decade. Playing the charming villain in Paddington 2 seems to have flicked some kind of switch within the actor and now we get to see him return to the horror genre for the first time since 1988 where he played the hero in Ken Russell’s gonzo vampire flick LAIR OF THE WHITE WORM.
What exactly Grant, or Mr Reed as he is known here, is up to is still being kept enticingly in the dark as his seemingly genial host welcomes two young missionaries into his house to talk about God and his teachings, only for them to be trapped and forced into some kind of sinister game that will force them to question their faith and face… something. Plus Hugh Grant goes all sinisterly Scottish at one point.
Written and directed by Scott Beck and Bryan Woods, screenwriters of the original A QUIET PLACE, all will be revealed when HERETIC is released in the UK on 1st November by Universal and A24.
